Rugged, often barren but always dramatic, North Dakota's badlands won over President Roosevelt in the late 19th century and continue to woo nature enthusiasts now as part of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
This lake was constructed in 1963 on Sheep Creek. And in some areas has the look of Louisiana swamp.
The lake is stocked with Largemouth Bass and Bluegill and is fenced to improve water quality. Dispersed camping is available but there are few amenities.
