Rugged, often barren but always dramatic, North Dakota's badlands won over President Roosevelt in the late 19th century and continue to woo nature enthusiasts now as part of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Ptarmigan Pass and the McAllister Gulch Loop are accessible via an easy road from Redcliff (south of Vail). This loop road includes steep forested switchbacks, views of the surrounding mountain peaks, and above-timberline ridge sections. The northern section of the loop can be muddy and is narrower.
We offer a compact version of Go-Northdakota for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-Northdakota on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
